IH101: Foundations of Islamic Herbal Medicine

Are you interested in learning how to use herbs to treat yourself and your family?  Do you currently work with herbs but would like to deepen your study?  If so, this course is just for you!  

This is an online course that you can complete at your own pace.   All students will receive login details for their course immediately after registration. 

This course is designed to help participants understand the importance of Herbal Medicine and to explore how it is practiced in Islam.  This fun and interactive course will teach students;

  • How herbs work within the body;
  • The importance of self-care;
  • How to use herbs and food as medicine;
  • How to make herbal products such as extractions, balms, salves, infused oils, and more

Students will also learn some foundational business aspects of making their own herbal products and selling them.  

 

HOMESCHOOLERS ARE WELCOME!

(This introductory course designed for Adults, however we have written Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) that appropriate for Middle and High School Students into the curricula.  These SOLs are available for download inside of the course.  Certificates are available at the end this free course.)

 

INSTRUCTOR BIO

The Instructor for this course is Umm Nadia.  She is the owner of Divine Ayat, LLC., a Registered Islamic Medicine Practitioner, and a Registered Muslim Herbalist.  She holds a Bachelors Degree in Arts and has studied at The Maryland University of Integrative Health where she majored in Therapeutic Herbalism with a concentration in Product Design.  

Her handmade wellness products can be found in select Whole Foods Market stores in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio.
